    Stages
This following poem was written by Hermann Hesse, a German writer, who wrote this while he was on his quest for enlightenment.

As every flower fades and as all youth
Departs, so life at every stage,
So every virtue, so our grasp of truth
Blooms in its day and may not last forever.
Since life may summon us at every age,
Be ready, heart, for parting, new endeavour,
Be read bravely and without remorse
To find new light that old ties cannot give.
In all beginnings dwells a magic force
For guarding us and helping us to live.

Serenely let us move to distant places
And let no sentiments of home detain us.
The Cosmic Spirit seeks not to restrain us
But lifts us stage by stage to wider spaces.
If we accept a home of our own making
    Familiar habit makes for indolence.
We must prepare for parting and leave-taking
Or else remain the slaves of permanence.

Even the hour of our death may send
Us speeding off to fresh and newer spaces,
And life may summon us to newer races.
So be it, heart: bid farewell without end.

  • The quest for enlightenment

I have talked previously about Life between Lives, particularly about the regressionist hypnotherapist, Dr. Michael Newton, with my quest for enlightenment in mind.  For those of you who missed that blog, I'm going to give a quick run down on this very interesting subject of the Spirit World investigated by Dr. Newton.  This is taken from his two books, namely, Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls.
Dr. Newton devotes his private hypnotherapy practice to behaviour modification and helping people access their higher spiritual selves.  He has developed a technique that takes his clients beyond their past life experiences to uncover a more meaningful soul existence between lives.  Are you hooked yet?
This is a phenomenal achievement in my eyes, and I have learnt so much by simply reading his books.  I had my own ideas about the afterlife before I read his books, only to find much of what I believed to be true, was actually mirrored by his research into the afterlife.
These books are a must if you are also on a quest for enlightenment.  They are not only fascinating, but educational.  WARNING- if you are not a broad-minded person and are not really interested in your spiritual growth at the moment, then you are probably not ready to take on board the information which challenges everything you have been taught through your life-time.  I can guarantee your religious beliefs will be challenged and the reason for your whole existence will take on a new meaning.

The books cover such issues as:-
    Our purpose on Earth.
    Soulmates.
Spiritual settings where souls go after death.
Ways spirits connect with and comfort the living.
Spirit guides and the council of wise beings who interview us after each life.
Links between soul groups and human families.
Soul recreation and travel between lives.
    The soul-brain connection.
    Why we choose certain bodies.

These are just some of the topics covered.
If you are interested in getting copies of these books, I've found mine through Ebay, as they are not found in my local bookstores.  Amazon might be a good place to look.  The ISBN is 1-56718-499-5 if that helps.  Happy reading!
