For almost two thousand years the idea of sex has been almost synomonous with sin. This is mainly concerning the western world.  Man's philosophy has been productive of so much misery and frustration.  This is in complete contrast with earlier ways of thinking among pagans and witches of the ancient world.  Witches worship the forces of life.  Sex is considered sacred and can play a very important role in some ritual work.  The energy of an orgasm can be the most powerful fuel to help propel a spell along to fruition.  Orgasm can also be used as a tool to achieve transcendental states.  The ancient eastern practice of tantric sex attests to that.  Natural form and nudity is actually a oneness with nature.  There is something liberating about being naked in the outdoors and, yes, making out, outside!  Maybe it's the undercurrent of ancient tribal feelings of belonging to our planet Earth.

Philosophy and magic are an interplay of complimentary forces.  Nature is made up of collaberating opposites.  To the medieval alchemists the great work came from the union of opposites.  The chinese call these forces Yin and Yang.

In times gone by, the Christian church ordained sex to be for one purpose only, namely the procreation of children.  To use it and enjoy it for any other purpose was sin.  Yes, sex is important for the propagation of the race, but that doesn't mean it can't provide sheer enjoyment and functionally the revitalization of the exchange of vital magnetism.  And sex doesn't have to be with someone of the opposite sex, as the church is now coming to terms with gradually.  And what of masterbation, I hear you ask ( self-abuse).  That's for the old fashioned moralists who thought masterbation actually caused ingrown toenails and insanity!!  For so long sexual enjoyment was the great sin and any ritual that involved sex must automatically be black magic and devil worship.  Which couldn't be further from the truth.  But this mentality still lingers today.  Pagans and witches of ancient times believed that what gave pleasure to humans also gave pleasure to the gods.

But all said and done, remember, it is love that can give sex the spark of magic needed!
